Justin Drake has urged the crypto community to brace for a possible AI-driven breach of wallet keys. He believes current encryption could fall much sooner than the long-feared quantum threat, potentially within months rather than years.
The warning follows OpenAI’s release of hundreds of AI-generated math papers, which Drake sees as evidence that advanced mathematical reasoning in AI is arriving faster than expected.
Vitalik Buterin backed the assessment, estimating that ECDSA could be broken within the next two years. He advised against rushed fund movements while acknowledging the growing risk.
Users are encouraged to move holdings to fresh addresses whose public keys have never been exposed on-chain.
