Donald Trump made clear that Washington will not launch an attack on Iran before the midterm elections on November 3. He pointed to Iran’s dire economic and military situation and said the existing blockade remains fully effective.
The president added that a record 22 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz overnight, none of it originating from or destined for Iran. He also stated that Tehran does not possess nuclear weapons.
In a separate remark, Trump insisted that federal agencies switch from “artificial intelligence” to the term “superintelligence.” A presidential directive issued on September 29 already requires all government bodies to adopt the new wording in official communications.
