Veteran Bitcoin Core contributor Peter Todd has been named to lead Slipstream, the direct-to-pool submission service run by publicly traded miner MARA.
The tool already routes non-standard transactions, including oversized Ordinals inscriptions and BitVM test cases, and was used to move more than 10 000 BTC out of multisig wallets affected by a recent Coldcard firmware flaw.
Todd previously released Libre Relay, a 2024 Bitcoin Core fork that relaxes relay policies, and has long championed replace-by-fee mechanics as co-author of BIP 125.
MARA presents Slipstream as an R&D sandbox for quantum-resistant signatures and Binohash, an approach to emulate covenants without a soft fork.
