Cathie Wood of ARK Invest says recent progress in AI and quantum research has eased her earlier concerns about Bitcoin’s long-dormant coins linked to Satoshi Nakamoto. Speaking on the FYI podcast, she and several developers explained how machine-learning tools are now being used to test stronger signature schemes inside Bitcoin Core.
The discussion focused on what would actually happen if those coins ever moved. Panelists argued the shift could simply reflect an owner migrating to newer, quantum-resistant addresses rather than any malicious activity or forced sale.
They acknowledged that large, sudden transfers from old wallets might still rattle markets in the short term. Betting platforms currently assign only a 3 % chance that any movement occurs before the end of 2026.
Wood added that the same technologies once viewed as threats are now accelerating defensive upgrades, giving the network more time to adapt without panic.
