Roughly 79,950 blocks remain until Bitcoin’s fifth halving. As of 5 October 2026 the network has already passed 61 % of the 210,000-block cycle, so the block reward will drop from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC sometime in 2028.
Daily new supply will halve from 450 to 225 BTC, cutting annual issuance from 164,000 to 82,000 coins. By block 1,050,000 roughly 20.34 million BTC will be in circulation versus today’s 20.09 million, pushing annual supply inflation down to 0.4 %.
Bitcoin is currently trading near 86,000 dollars. The much-watched T-500 window opens in 55 days, a period that historically delivered average gains of 1,959 % by T+500, though past performance offers no certainty this time.
