ARK Invest chief Cathie Wood addressed Bill Ackman’s inflation warnings on the In The Know show. She argued that breakthroughs in AI, robotics and blockchain are likely to cut costs sharply and push inflation lower in the years ahead.
Wood pointed out that the recent rise in US Treasury yields stems mainly from higher real rates rather than inflation fears, suggesting markets are pricing in stronger real growth. She expects productivity gains to exceed current forecasts.
She also highlighted bitcoin’s changing relationship with gold. ARK research since 2019 shows their correlation at roughly 0.1, and lately it has turned negative, with gold falling as bitcoin rises. Wood called this a clear reversal in bitcoin’s favour.
