Eric Chen, co-founder and CEO of Injective, said a spot ETF for INJ in the United States is unlikely before 2027. He added that no firm timeline exists and the product could reach the market earlier than many expect.
Chen has already submitted two filings to the SEC, one from 21Shares and another from Canary Capital that includes staking features. The moves come as Injective expands its U.S. footprint: Injective Institutional Services registered as a securities dealer with the SEC in August.
At the same time the project is advancing in Europe. After completing MiCA notification in July, INJ was added to ESMA’s temporary register, opening the door to trading in the EU once full licensing is secured.
Chen’s comments arrive as U.S. regulators review more altcoin ETFs following Bitcoin, Ethereum and recent XRP products, positioning Injective among the projects hoping to follow.
