FIL has climbed roughly 40 % over the past month and is trading near $1.09. Traders are reacting to the end of a six-year vesting schedule that began with the network’s mainnet launch in 2020.
Starting 15 October, the large initial distribution stream will stop. It previously released about 68.3 million FIL each year. At current rates, total annual issuance could fall from 88.9 million to 20.6 million FIL.
The change represents a roughly 77 % reduction. Annual supply growth relative to circulating tokens would drop from 9.7 % to 2.2 %. Storage-provider rewards will continue, but the big early-distribution flow is ending.
