James E. Thorne, chief market strategist at Wellington-Altus, says Bitcoin’s weekly chart now displays one of its strongest technical setups in years. After the 2025 peak the price retreated to the 200-week moving average yet stayed above it. Since the June low, the 30- and 40-week exponential moving averages have turned upward, and Bitcoin has moved back above both lines.
Weekly momentum indicators support the advance without forming negative divergence, Thorne noted. At the same time, the market’s underlying structure is shifting: GENIUS rules and tokenization are moving Bitcoin from a speculative asset toward core financial infrastructure.
Regulated stablecoins and tokenized U.S. Treasuries are creating steadier demand than in prior cycles, he added. This coincides with the historical pattern of the U.S. four-year presidential cycle, which typically brings the strongest equity gains, while inflation pressures ease despite tariffs and higher oil prices.
